Firstly, as you could probably tell, Latin is not my strongest subjects, with my total butchering of the Latin name for this type of monastic chapel. Nevertheless, such capella ante portas are fascinating structures and other exist in various monastic sites across the country - including Hailes Abbey in Gloucestershire. The chapel was converted into a parish church after the reformation. Of course, the abbey was dissolved by King Henry VIII in the 1530s as part of his dissolution of the monasteries. The chapel turned church at Titly Abbey in Essex is also notable for its collection of medieval and Tudor brasses - some of which I showed in this video - and for its striking orange exterior. While the chapel and abbey ruins look like a serene piece of the English countryside. This site is a stones throw from London’s Stanstead Airport - with planes regularly tearing up the sky overhead. | Great British Architecture

“Plateau de Fromages”

– Folha de S. Paulo, August 27, 1969 -
by Plinio Corrêa de Oliveira
A few years ago, international communism stood as a unified doctrinal, cultural, and political force.
Later, this monolith began to break apart. In Europe, the Yugoslav and Albanian divisions appeared. In Asia, a large rift formed with China. This caused communist circles worldwide to split into two opposing factions: pro-Russian and pro-Chinese. The 1968 Marcusian revolution in Paris and the Czechoslovak unrest highlighted the difference between liberal and anarchic neo-communism and the fiercely authoritarian Soviet communism.
While all this was happening outside Russia, the monolithic nature of communism also underwent significant changes within the country. Khrushchev-era “thawed” communists appeared alongside traditional Stalinists. Then emerged post-Khrushchev communists, a seemingly mixed blend of Khrushchevism and Stalinism. Post-Khrushchev factions further split into doves and hawks. Ultimately, according to …More

Have you visited Bath? Bath Abbey holds joint cathedral status with Wells Cathedral, which I believe to be a unique set up in England. As the name suggests, Bath Abbey was a monastery in medieval times but has been an abbey in name only since the Reformation in the 16th century. The rebuilding of the Romanesque Norman abbey was commenced by Bishop King in the late 15th century. The vision that prompted this rebuilding is displayed on the west front, known as Jacobs Ladder. However, by the time that the abbey was completed in 1539, it was dissolved by King Henry VIII and ceased to be a religious house and was sold into private ownership. In 1572, Edmund Colthurst gifted Bath Abbey to the people of the city. Thereafter, Queen Elizabeth I and Lord Burghley took an interest the reconstruction effort and provided financial assistance. The present abbey was completed in 1616. The abbey was restored by Sir George Gilbert in the mid-19th century. The most notable aspect of the restoration was …More

11K views · 849 reactions | One of the wonders of late medieval England? There is truly nothing else quite like the Wenhaston Doom. There are doom paintings else where in England, however, none survive in such a well preserved state. For instance, there is a great doom at St Thomas’s church in Salisbury, however, that has been extensively restored. Additionally, there are many dooms that survive in terrible condition, such as the one at Stanningfield church, also in Suffolk. One of the reasons why the Wenhaston Doom is so appealing is because of this story of its chance survival. The fortune of this story make the feeling of beholding this stunning piece of late medieval art even more overpowering. If anyone is wondering, the gaps in these paintings are the shadow of where the Rood figures would have once stood before the painting. The rood figures included Jesus on the Cross, flanked by John and Mary. Unfortunately, every single doom painting in England was destroyed at the Reformation …More

TARTARIA REVEALED: PUTIN UNLEASHES THE FORBIDDEN EMPIRE
The world just changed forever. Russian President Vladimir Putin has declassified explosive Tartaria archives, unearthing a colossal empire that was systematically ERASED from global memory. The moment this happened, Western historians went silent — and for good reason.
Tartaria wasn’t a myth. It was the largest empire on Earth, spanning from the Urals to Alaska, New Earth to Tibet. Its people weren’t savages — they were spiritually advanced, morally grounded, and technologically ahead of their time. They lived by virtue, honor, and ancestral power. Blue-eyed, red-haired warriors who valued family, justice, and the sacred bloodline. These were not primitive tribes. They were Slavic-Aryan titans. And now, their memory is being restored.
The first edition of Encyclopedia Britannica (1771) called Tartaria a dominant force in northern Asia. But after the 18th century? It vanished — not by accident, but by design. Later …More
