During the Consistory, Leo XIV told the cardinals, “Support me, stand with me in this battle against war,” pro-homosexual Cardinal Jean-Paul Vesco of Algiers told IlMessaggero.it on August 23. Questioning the “Just War” Cardinal Vesco questioned the Christian concept of a just war, arguing that “for those who are fighting, their own war is always just.” While acknowledging a right to self-defense, he asked, “But up to what point?” “In any case, war itself is not just. In the end, we no longer know where to draw the line.” Israel and its “Settlements, Settlements, Settlements” On Gaza, CardinalVesco recalled living in Jerusalem for two years and visiting Gaza several times during the Intifada: “I experienced the checkpoints and saw with my own eyes the humiliation they represented. Today it is much worse.” Even then, he said, it was difficult to believe in a two-state solution because the Israeli authorities did not want one: “Netanyahu has not wanted it for more than twenty years.” …نور
There is no worldly solution for the Middle East crisis. There will only be peace when the Jews acknowledge that Jesus Christ is the Messiah and accept Him as their Lord and Savior. Then there will be peace.
A reading from the Second Letter of St. Paul to Thessalonians 2:1-3a, 14-17 We ask you, brothers and sisters, with regard to the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our assembling with him, not to be shaken out of your minds suddenly, or to be alarmed either by a “spirit,” or by an oral statement, or by a letter allegedly from us to the effect that the day of the Lord is at hand. Let no one deceive you in any way. To this end he has also called you through our Gospel to possess the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore, brothers and sisters, stand firm and hold fast to the traditions that you were taught, either by an oral statement or by a letter of ours. May our Lord Jesus Christ himself and God our Father, who has loved us and given us everlasting encouragement and good hope through his grace, encourage your hearts and strengthen them in every good deed and word. shareyourcatholicfaith
The Priestly Fraternity of Saint Pius X (SSPX) has announced that it will continue its annual pilgrimage to Lourdes. Following the episcopal consecrations on July 1 in Ecône, Bishop Jean-Marc Micas of Tarbes and Lourdes withdrew permission for the SSPX to celebrate public Masses, administer sacraments, or organize public prayers at Lourdes. In an August 22 statement, Fr. Gonzague Peignot, superior of the FSSPX in France, announced that the Fraternity intends to continue coming to Lourdes every year, “Our Lady does not deserve to be abandoned despite the obstacles,” he said. The FSSPX expressed 'sorrow and incomprehension', questioning the bishop's decision and pointing to the interreligious Christian-Muslim pilgrimage that was welcomed at the sanctuary in October 2025. For now, the FSSPX faithful intend to remain present at Lourdes, but their pilgrimage will no longer be able to take the same public form as in previous years. #newsPjxbelhyed
"It must be considered, however, that if there is a determined way of arriving at some end, those who proceed by a contrary way, or who turn aside from the right way, cannot attain that end. For a sick person is not cured if he uses the contrary things which the physician forbids, except perhaps by accident. Now there is a determined way of arriving at happiness, namely through virtue. For nothing attains its own end except by performing well what is proper to it: neither would a plant produce fruit if the mode of its natural operation were not preserved in it; nor would a runner reach the prize, or a soldier the palm, unless each operated according to his proper office. But for a man to operate rightly his proper operation is for him to operate according to virtue: for the virtue of each thing is that which makes its possessor good and renders his work good, as is said in Book II of the Ethics. Therefore, since the ultimate end of man is eternal life, of which it has been spoken, not …نور

Unfried, in turn, thanked Bishop Bätzing for treating him with "respect".
Kurz vor dem Ruhestand hängt er in einer emotionalen, öffentlichen Beichte das Messgewand an den Nagel, gibt die Pfarrei auf und will seine Freundin heiraten.
Leo XIV says we shouldn't 'retreat into our own … Galatians 1:9 We have said this before, and now I repeat it: if anyone preaches to you a gospel other than the one you received, let him be accursed
Accursed he may be, but he also remains the Pope. A Pope has a specific role. It is not social policy or environmental propaganda. It is not "bringing the church into the modern age" not listening. It is very specifically to (Pastor Aeturnus Chapter 4, #6) "by [the Holy Spirit's] assistance, [the Pope] might religiously guard and faithfully expound the revelation or deposit of faith transmitted by the apostles." Everything else which comes from the Pope is to be treated as outside of their respective remits and protected neither by infalability nor the authority of the office.
On 23 August, at Holy Family Church in St. Louis Park, Minnesota, a woman knelt at the Communion rail during Communion. Just as the priest was about to give her Communion, she stood and handed him a flower. Despite Communion being distributed by intinction, she grabbed the Host and then took the chalice used for intinction, drank from it, and threw it onto the floor before leaving the church with an escort. The priest immediately purified the area where the Precious Blood had been spilled.
A disturbing incident occurred during Sunday Mass at Holy Family Church in St. Louis Park, Minnesota, where a woman disrupted Communion by grabbing and dropping the vessel used for intinction, spilling some of the Precious Blood.
Since they have a video of the Mass, hand it over to the police and send copies to the news media. If it were just the humans being disrespected, they could choose to "grin and bear it" but since God was profaned, the woman needs to be tracked down and punished.
German Bishop: Perceived Absence of God Expands Homosexual Practices: “Conservative” Bishop Stefan Oster of Passau said in his Assumption homily that the lifestyles, sexual preferences and identities displayed at Christopher Street Day are difficult to reconcile with the Christian view of humanity: “The perceived absence of God has massively expanded the scope of what is possible within the entire context surrounding sex and gender.” Oster asked: “Is the writer Dostoevsky ultimately right when he says, ‘If God does not exist, then everything is permitted’?”
نور

I am leaving Part 1 here The Resurrection of Christ Season 1. Episode 1 And this is the playlist for the other parts. Some are in French and others in Polish further down. The Film The Resurrection of Christ Monk Elijah (Clement, Disciple of the Apostle Peter – Volume III) The central theme of The Apocalypse, the third volume of the tetralogy Clement, Disciple of the Apostle Peter, is the Apostle John’s Revelation on the island of Patmos. Through the prism of such disturbing contemporary phenomena as the new world order, microchipping, gender ideology, heresy, idolatry and occultism, the book explores the meaning of apocalyptic symbols and imagery. One interesting aspect of the book is its prophetic nature. First published in Czech in 2019, the book highlighted dangerous means of global control and depopulation, such as microchipping, vaccination and digitalisation, which became a reality almost immediately in the near future (the Covid pandemic, artificial intelligence). Not only does …نور

by Plinio Corrêa de Oliveira An informal lecture gave on August 25, 1964 (*) August 25 is the feast of Saint Louis IX, king, confessor of the Faith, crusader and model of a Catholic head of state. There are two different ways people picture Saint Louis IX. One is as he truly was, the other is a soft, effeminate distortion of his person. This dichotomy is similar to the one that exists between many artists’ renditions of Saint Pius X and pictures of him. On the one hand, the photographs portray a giant of a man, strong soul and spiritual king, conscious of his dignity. On the other hand, many artists depict a feeble old grandfather, whose face begs pardon for being pope and regrets that he is not a simple priest. There is an abyss between this limp-wristed portrayal and the historic Saint Pius X, who was the hero against Modernism. Many artists’ renditions of Saint Pius X portray a limp-wristed distortion of his person as seen in photographs The same holds true with Saint Louis IX. On …نور
Today, Vice President J.D. Vance attended a Mass in the Roman rite with his family at Old St. Mary’s Church in Cincinnati, reports Crisis Magazine editor Eric Sammons on x.com, who was present. “It was nice to see J.D. Vance and his beautiful family at Mass this morning,” Sammons wrote on X on August 23. Sammons said Vance lives nearby and that his family attends several Cincinnati-area parishes when in town. He added that this was Vance’s first visit to Old St. Mary’s since becoming vice president. Vance’s presence brought additional security. According to Sammons, Secret Service agents screened everyone entering the church with handheld wands and checked bags. Sammons said the screening caused only a minute or two of waiting, describing the agents as “professional, efficient, and quite friendly. He also noted that he had heard Vance say his family deliberately varies which churches it attends to avoid repeatedly inconveniencing parishioners at any one parish. #newsBibrwcfcti
Canterbury Cathedral was built by Catholics before being taken by Protestants This is what they are regularly using it for, most recently on the Feast of the Assumption
August 25 - St. Joseph Calasanz. CatholicFaithNetwork Founder of the poor regular clergy of the pious schools of the Mother of God, a native of Petralta in Arragon, of a noble family. He sanctified his youth by all virtues from his infancy, particularly by charity and prayer. At school it was his custom zealously to instruct his companions in mysteries of faith and in the most perfect methods of prayer. He consecrated himself to God by a vow of virginity, and distinguished himself in his studies first of humanity and philosophy, and afterwards of divinity at Valencia. New Castile, Arragon, and Catalonia were successively edified by the sanctity of his life, and his apostolic labours. Going to Rome, he was enrolled in the confraternity of the Christian doctrine, in which zealous employment he soon saw the infinite importance of instructing children early in the knowledge and spirit of religion. Hereupon he particularly devoted himself to this part of the pastoral charge, though he gave …نور

More than 2,300 Catholics took part in Argentina’s 17th Pilgrimage of Our Lady of Christendom from August 15–17. Inspired by the Paris–Chartres pilgrimage in France, this year’s pilgrimage set a new attendance record. The pilgrims covered approximately 100 kilometres from the Church of the Immaculate Conception in Rawson, in Buenos Aires Province, to the Basilica of Our Lady of Luján, Argentina’s national Marian shrine. Mass in the traditional Roman rite was celebrated each day at outdoor altars along the route. The traditional Mass was not permitted inside the Basilica of Our Lady of Luján. The pilgrimage instead concluded at the basilica on August 17 with Eucharistic adoration and the Rosary. Several prominent clergy took part in the pilgrimage. - Fr. Raúl Olazábal, of the Institute of Christ the King Sovereign Priest, celebrated Mass on the first day, the Feast of the Assumption. - Fr. Augustin-Marie Aubry, prior of the Fraternity of Saint Vincent Ferrer in Chémeré, France, celebrated …نور

Is there any point trying to use Wikipedia for biblical research? I was doing research on Daniel 7 and 8 and predictably Wikipedia only gave the skeptic side of things. I say predictably because it's known to be edited by atheist Reddit types. What websites do you use for biblical research.
