On the campus of the University of Toronto's St. Michael's College, also known as the Catholic University, homosexual symbols are displayed. These include a large banner and a rainbow crosswalk on St. Joseph Street. In a letter dated 2024, the president and vice-chancellor of St. Michael’s College wrote to a Toronto councilor that the student union had requested the rainbow crosswalk and that the administration supported the proposal. The Argentine Bishops' Conference issued a tribute to the abortion activist Taty Almeida, 95, following her death on June 14. Leo XIV is considering declaring all members of the Priestly Fraternity of Saint Pius X (FSSPX) schismatics, TribuneChrétienne.com reported on 19 June, citing anonymous sources: "According to several observers familiar with the matter, the document currently being prepared at the Vatican could go much further than some imagine. It would not merely acknowledge a rupture affecting the bishops or superiors of the FSSPX. While he generally praises Leo XIV’s reflections on artificial intelligence, he challenges the encyclical’s call to “overcome” the traditional doctrine of just war. Magnifica Humanitas, drawing on Fratelli Tutti, offers two reasons for moving beyond just war theory: first, that nearly every war in recent decades has been presented as justified, and second, that modern weapons make war an unacceptable solution.
